Tallassee Revitalization Plans

Revitalization and Design Plan for Tallassee Downtown, East Tallassee and Carrville.

The City of Talllassee has contracted with the firm of Goodwyn, Mills Cawood Inc. to develop a Revitalization and Design Plan for three commercial districts in Tallassee. There have been numerous meetings, discussions and excellent input already from businesses and citizens about future plans for Tallassee. This current plan will pull this information together and incorporate additional best ideas and thoughts about Tallassee into a workable plan and design.

In order to be sure that businesses, property owners, citizens and other organizations have an opportunity to provide additional input into the planning and design for these three commercial districts we are placing a copy of the proposed design plans on the website for for your review and comments.

Welcome to Tallassee, Alabama, "the Treasure on the Tallapoosa". We are a small but growing town in south central Alabama. We are strategically located 10 minutes from I-85, 20 minutes to Auburn and the State Capitol of Montgomery. Tallassee is the industrial core of Elmore county. Our Public City School System continually out ranks all neighboring systems.
Our natural resources are bountiful with the Tallapoosa river running through the heart of Tallassee. Lake Martin is in our back yard. Hunting, fishing, and all types of outdoor activities are easily available.
We are in the beginning stages of developing the Riverfront and Entertainment district. This area will include an amphitheater, museum, Creek Indian heritage, walking paths and a hotel and conference.
Tallassee is a wonderful place to escape the bustle of the city and decompress and enjoy family and friends.
